Thoughtful services for elderly Stayed for one night. The room was quite small and cramped. Somehow we couldn’t really adjust the AC temperature. If you need to sleep in a cold room, it could be a problem. I had dinner and breakfast in their restaurant. The guests were a mixed of Japanese and foreign guests. The restaurant only provided a name card of each menu in Japanese with tiny icons of the ingredients for allergy information. No English translation at all which slowed me down because I had to use the translation app. A local guest blatantly showed their annoyances because of this. I felt bad to her but I also felt annoyed because I was also a paying guest just like her. I was traveling with a group and we had an elderly lady with limited mobility. The hotel lent us a stepping stool to help her out when boarding the bus. Very thoughtful! All the staffs were really kind and professional. The only negative experience to me was the rude lady I encountered during breakfast. I do wish the management would consider adding English menu card to help speed up the buffet line and prevent my bad experience to happen to another foreign guests.

The hotel features a lovely outdoor onsen and is very spacious, making it great for groups. Room options include both Western-style beds and traditional futon, which is a nice flexibility for different preferences. What to consider: Dinner is served buffet-style and can get very crowded, especially during peak hours. Popular stations such as the steak counter often have long queues, so timing your meal helps.

Anyway, the scale of the buffet food is amazing! Seafood is also lined up with delicious foods such as Western food and ramen, and if you don't examine it carefully, you'll soon be full... The bath was of course spacious and comfortable. I was also interested to see exhibits that showed the state of the day, such as the Emperor's lodging once and the Lake Toya Summit, which was used as a lodging for the Americans.
