APA Hotel Takamatsu Kawaramachi

Hotel is 5 mins walk from Kawaramachi station, which is 2 stops away from Takamatsu station. Hotel is small as like any other typical japanese hotels. I found the room a bit dusty, the bed frame table was dusty and also the corners of the room. Service is good, breakfast spread is good too. The hotel is near to the shopping arcade so you dont have to worry about food at night. If given a choice, I will not stay here again and find a hotel nearer to Takamatsu station.

* Convenient location, just 4-min walk to Kawaramachi tram station (瓦町駅), shopping mall (瓦町Flag), supermarket, Lawson, cosmetics store (Takamatsu Monster) & restaurants, but it’s a bit quiet & dark at night nearby the hotel. Just 5-6min to Takamatsu Marugame-machi shopping district (丸亀町商店街)& the new Marugame-machi Green shopping district (丸亀町 GREEN). From Takamatsu airport, it’s just 3-min walk from the airport limousine bus stop, Kawaramachitenmaya stop (瓦町駅), to the hotel. However, when going to the Takamatsu airport, it takes a 10-min walk to the airport limousine bus stop, Kenchodori Chuokoen mae (県庁通り中央公園前), which is a bit far away when carrying luggage. * Twin room & bathroom size is ok, clean & quiet. The twin beds look like semi-double bed which are spacious, but are a bit big when compared with the room size. The LCD TV is a bit too big on the desk & block the mirror. It’s better to install a wall-mounted LCD TV instead in order to leave more space for the desk. * Though it is a smoking room, there was an air purifier in the room & there was no smoking smell. Wifi was ok. * Buffet breakfast was ok, but there are more cheaper & better alternatives nearby.

This hotel is situated within a 2 minute walk from the Kawaramachi station. From the takamatsu airport, it can be reached directly from the airport bus and very convenience. Compared to JR station area, I think the kawaramachi station has more happenings and eating places. To reach the JR station, it only takes 10 minutes by the tram from Kawaramachi station for two stations. For the hotel itself, it is situated at a quiet area of kawaramachi area and the windows provide good sound isolation. There is a 24hour convenience shop 7-11 just at the corner of the street. The reception is at the second floor, therefore if you are carrying a lot of luggage for checking in, it is better to use the lift hidden hehind the car park. For the room, it is super small as expected as other APA hotel chains. The bathroom is even smaller than the one I stayed in Tokyo.. which I can't even move in the shower. The room housekeeper is super nice and she made my room super well. Also the room is with individual air conditioning so that i can easily control the temperature of the room.
