Kirishima Hotel

We stayed one night in this hotel. The outdoor onsen in this hotel is very nice and is their highlight. We did not have time to try the mixed outdoor onsen where you can wear a swimsuit or yukata. Photo of the mixed onsen looks nice. Rooms are a little worn out and it is time for a refresh. Food is buffet style. Whilst quality and spread is relatively good, my preference is for the kaiseki type of dining.

our purpose was just a stop over for a night with onsen so I have not a high expectation before the arrival. Our room was a western style bedroom, which is quite cold, but spacious and acceptable. The onsen is large in particular with the external section which is worth the try. We had breakfast there and it was so-so.

we spent 2 days there...and it was fantastic experience, we really really like outside bath, they took you there by car and you will soak in hot water in middle of misty forest, that is special experience.... It is only 5 min by car.... We went to national Park near by I think 1 hour by bus and did to the top of mountain 1000 m + and back to the hotel. Service was very good and food fantastic but pre design for you. The only negative was as we need a hat we bought there at souvenir shop and it was 40 $ for simple hat. I think it was most expensive we have ever bought.
