Hakone Kowakudani Onsen Ryokan Mizunoto

We stayed at several Kyoritsu Resort-affiliated hotels, mainly in Tokyo, and we felt that they offered good value for money. I was expecting this hotel, but it was disappointing. < Cleaning status and outdated facilities> Right after entering the guest room, I felt something strange on the back of my socks. There was a sticky, sticky stain on the floor of the guest room that seemed to have stepped on it. Other than that, there were multiple stains on the flooring, which easily fell off when wiped with a wet tissue. It was the first time we swept the floor right after arriving at the hotel… Although the website and other websites say that the museum has been reopened after renovation, the gap between the new parts (wallpapers, etc.) and the old parts was severe, which caught my attention. The bathhouse, the big bath was beautiful! On the other hand, the tatami mats in the private baths were dirty and smelled a bit. Inside, the front cover of the facility's information file was tattered and dusted, and the wooden amenity trays were old and badly cracked. In hotels these days, charging your phone can be done with a USB cable, This one requires an AC adapter, which plugs into a so-called household outlet. I had nothing but a USB cable and was in a hurry, but I was able to borrow a charger at the front desk, which helped. ＜Restaurant＞ Dinner is like, neither good nor bad... The Japanese set meal for breakfast is only in-flight (economy class). I found the breakfast buffet held at other Kyoritsu Resort affiliated facilities more attractive. The restaurant felt filthy, with clear plastic sheets clinging to it, possibly to regulate air conditioning near the ceiling. ＜Design of the building＞ Overall, I felt that there were not many places to relax. There is a large window and sofa in the lobby and the view is great, so I was relaxing after the bath, The staff has cleared the sofas because they are setting up a fair event for children in the lobby. He seemed to be waiting silently for me to leave, gradually clearing out the seats other than where I was sitting. Another, who was relaxing on the couch, said: "What? What is it?" I was in a panic. I wish I could just say hello or show you at check-in. There are almost no chairs in the baths. There's only one small bench in the dressing room. Outside the bathhouse, there were benches with about four seats, but the atmosphere was only to sort out your belongings. I think it’s the idea of “slowing down in a room”, but that room was unsanitary… There wasn’t much room for it, so I was tired.

This is a big hotel with many nice amenities. It has 5 private onsens and 2 public’s. They provide everything for a relax experience. Breakfast Japanese style is fantastic and the dinner was also outstanding but pricey. Japanese western style rooms are huge and very functional. It has parking and if you do not have a car is a climb to the get here. Not easy to go out to have meals. My main disappointment is that if do a onsen late afternoon and d not want to get out they do not offer anything to eat but the large meal that you must book in advance. Simply nothing until 10:30 PM when they offer free noodles.

Perfect place to relax and take in beautiful views. They have a shuttle bus waiting at the train station to pick you up. The one thing I would recommend is do not pack anything except toiletries. They gave us fresh set of clothes every day. Staff was very helpful and did their best to answer any questions. We recommend getting a room with its own onsen or use one of three private onsens. Food is very traditional and plentiful.
