The hotel itself is located in town next to Gora Park and 3-5 minutes walk from the Koem-shino station of the cable car . Our room had a good size and a bathtub on the terrace, an aircondition and a small fridge. The bathroom itself was small and rather cramped. The hotel features a restaurant with interesting cuisine, a hot spring (not used by ourself), and a herbal tea bar; drinks are free and self-serve. The restaurant staff is very friendly and helpful; they speak a little more English than the people at the front desk. For a two-night stay, the dinner menu varies slightly, but breakfast remains the same. You can borrow kimonos for free—all sizes, for both children and adults. The rooms are equipped with one-size-fits-all slippers. We didn’t experience any room service. Fresh towels are placed in a plastic bag outside the room door. We depart in pouring rain and have to catch the train at 8:45 a.m.. The man at the front desk was unable to offer us a shuttle service before 9 a.m. or arrange a taxi (apparently they’re all booked up). An Uber is not available in the area on our departure day. We have to walk steeply downhill through the rain to the train station with our luggage. Thanks for the lack of service this morning. Saying goodbye wasn’t hard this moment.

Pros: Nice big room. Very clean. The location is great. The restaurant and bar are very stylishly decorated. Cons: - Hotel information only via QR code online. English translation very confusing and some info is simply not to be found, e.g. breakfast times. - those who do not speak Japanese are lost here. Very few hotel employees speak English. This makes confusion and misunderstanding commonplace. - Check in via tablet at reception. Here you have to choose the dinner time. We were offered only the period 17:30-19:00 for both evenings. Was written down especially on my check-in note. Attention: You really have to be there on time at 5:30! We were called at 17:37 in the room and reminded of food. Been to the restaurant the next night on time at 5:30pm: great confusion and waiting to learn that we are not allowed to eat until 7:45pm. Well great... query at the reception was fruitless. - Hotel allegedly attaches importance to environmental friendliness. This justifies the lack of room cleaning. The fresh towels and the complete bathroom accessories are only placed outside the door... in plastic bags. - Dinner was quite delicious, breakfast buffet rather not. Service staff completely overwhelmed, among other things they wanted to clear my plate while I ate of it. At breakfast at 08:00 was first waiting, as there was no place in the restaurant.
