Shinyokohama Kokusai Hotel

It was a clean hotel with the bare minimum of a business hotel. There was a talk event, two concerts, a marathon in the morning, baseball in the afternoon, and there was so much going on that I started checking in around 14:00, but I got in line. I've submitted my address and name in advance on the internet, but I thought it might be the cause of the line where I was told to write everything down. Pick up your keys, take the necessary amenities in front of the lobby (toothbrush, comb, razor, green tea) and take the elevator to your room. There are indoor clothes (one size fits all only) and a trouser press in front of the elevator on each floor. Men who are LL size or larger should bring their own pyjamas. There are no valuables compartments in the room, so the only option is to put them in a suitcase with a key. There are no restaurants, but there are restaurants and 24-hour convenience stores nearby. If you don't like the smell of food in your room, there's a free space upstairs. Vending machines (alcohol available), microwaves, and washer dryers are also located on the second floor.

Easy to find standout hotel in Yokohama. Two minutes from train station, and ten minutes to stadium. Very clean , well staffed by courteous personnel. Pre breakfast walk included with breakfast, interesting selection. Comfortable, spacious rooms.

Altogether fine, room dimensions are even on the generous side for a Japanese business hotel. However, the aircon is really poor - the receptionist at check-in will tell you that the aircon is not adjustable and, if you feel it is too warm, then you must open the window. In fact, they have a laminated card to press this point home. It is also displayed in the elevator. Bathroom is very aged, and has a huge step up into the pre-fab compartment. Toilet paper is of the poorest quality. The room key is old-school - a real key on a long plastic toggle.
