Star Hotel Yokohama

We stayed here the night before boarding our cruise ship. The room was very small with two single beds. The whole room was like a cruise ship cabin including the small bathroom. The staff are friendly and helpful. This room was good for one night but we would not stay any more than that. Older style rooms. Be warned of one disadvantage, WALLS ARE VERY THIN. You can hear what is going on in the room next door very easily.

In a great location on the harbour overlooking the Yamashita park, which once again was hosting a festival. It is also close to Chinatown and many other restaurants and shopping areas. The room was very small with only enough room to place your suitcases on the floor. Despite this we had a good view over the park and harbour. The hotel doesn’t have breakfast but does have a café on the ground floor and other options within a short walk.

The hotel gives great value. I found this hotel for around $40-50/night. If I can get it around that price again, I would book again. Location is right next to the water. It's a beautiful walk down to Minato Mirai and a short walk to China Town and the Chukagai Station. Room was a step up from the cheap business hotels. At least there's space to open up your luggage and enough space to stretch. It's an older building, but the bathroom was renovated. Service is overall friendly on the surface. I asked for a room with a view and was given a room that was facing a wall. I guess next time I'll ask a room with the worst views to get a good one?
