This is a nicely located hotel. Yumoto is a good base from which to view Hakone. The hotel has lovely renovated rooms. The family rooms are very spacious. The only thing we found disturbing was the partly suspended ceiling in the bathroom (room 703). I am 1.87 meters and have hit my head here regularly in three days. Breakfast at the hotel is good, with lots of choice. Despite the crowds, everything was well replenished. Dinner was also good. The Japanese meal of 7 or 8 courses was very well prepared, but it was not quite our tastes, with for example many dishes with jelly and miso. Luckily we were able to change restaurants smoothly. The second evening we had dinner at the French restaurant. That was very tasty, with a Japanese twist. The hotel is big. The onsen is fine, there are also private onsens, and the hotel has an outdoor swimming pool. The lobby looks a bit dated (and is therefore not so cozy to sit). Staff very friendly and helpful.

In a typical Japanese circuit hotel, you dress in traditional attire for the Japanese dinner.

We stayed here for one night on out trip through Japan. Very conveniently located with a 5-minute walk to the train station and main town. The hotel also has an Onsen and Spa, although the massage was at best mediocre. The Onsen is excellent. The vibe is very Japanese and speaks to the spa/relaxation side of things. Our room was in the main building and quite big. We would recommend this hotel.
