This was easily my most memorable meal in Japan: go for a combo of Japanese tradition at its best and lovely food.
1. Set menu is extensive with multiple courses trying a whole range of dishes
2. Waitress takes the trouble to explain everything.
3. The style of the restaurant, where most of it is in private rooms, offers real privacy and is unlike anything I've seen in Europe.
4. Prices are very reasonable after Japan's big cities.
Go and explore the truly incredible scenery outside Kyoto and instead of going back at the end of the night, go and eat in Kameoka. If I could give it six stars I would!
