Tateshina Kogen, over 1300 meters above sea level, is in a completely off-season in March. Tateshina is a tourist season in spring, summer and autumn, and quiet in winter. Due to the high altitude but low snowfall, winter sports such as skiing can be enjoyed for a short period of time, and March is the full off-season. That's why hotels are more affordable in the late winter season. I would recommend it to those who want to take a hot spring, relax in the fireplace lounge, have a delicious breakfast and relax in a large room with a view. It was 13,000 yen including breakfast for one person on weekdays. Since it is a resort hotel, there are no single rooms, and even if it is used by one person, it will be a large twin (even a standard room is large enough). The hot springs are located in a separate building which is a 2-minute walk away, so it is difficult to go back and forth in yukata, but it was comfortable with rattles everywhere. There is a free transfer from Chino Station. Dinner is OK at the hotel restaurant, but there is also a takeout menu. I like to drink in my room while reading in my room, so I bought this and that at Chino Station and enjoyed it.

The symbolic fireplace did not feel as atmospheric as I had hoped. The whole building was calm and comfortable.

I stayed here for one night in September. It is one of the hotels in Tokyu Resort, and the hot spring is in a separate building. It is a 2-3 minute walk from the hotel, but there is also a shuttle bus service available, so you don't have to worry about bad weather or cold days. The hotel was built many years ago, and although the facilities are old, they are well maintained and there are no particular inconveniences or concerns. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. We had a French course for dinner. Everything looked and tasted wonderful. I was concerned about the water glasses used in the restaurant and asked the staff about it. Breakfast is not a buffet, but a choice of Western or Japanese set meals. I chose the Japanese set meal, and there was a sufficient amount and variety of side dishes. I would like to visit this hotel again next time.
