Toyoko Inn Sakudaira Station Asamaguchi

　Toyoko Inn Saku-Daira Station Asamaguchi, as its name suggests, was located near the Asamaguchi exit of Saku-Daira Station on the Hokuriku Shinkansen and Kome Line. Saku-Daira is a station that opened with the opening of the Shinkansen line. Although it has been over 20 years since it opened, the area around the station is not very developed. Still, there was a popular soba restaurant nearby, where we had dinner. The hotel itself seemed relatively new, and was bright and clean. Being a Toyoko Inn it was not luxurious, but it was reasonably priced, it came with a free breakfast, and the staff were very friendly.

佐久平駅に最も近いビジネスホテルです。ホテル内の清潔感、バスルームを含めた各部屋の狭さ、バスルームの設備がやや古いところは他のビジネスホテルでも多く見られる項目で、それらに慣れていれば特に不愉快と感じることはないでしょう。佐久平駅周辺もいくつか商業施設はあるものの基本的に静かであるため、夜間は特に騒がしさを感じることなく快適に過ごすことが出来ると思います。 一方、部屋数と比較するとエレベーターが一基しかないのは、部屋へ行く、あるいは1階に降りる上で待たされることが多く、少し不便に感じます。エレベーターのかご内も狭く荷物を持っていない状態の人が10人乗れるくらいの広さであるため、大きめのスーツケースを持っている場合、エレベーターに乗れず一層待たされることも少なくありません。 ホテルの周辺は飲食店がいくつかありますが、深夜帯は勿論夜間は閉まっている店が多いです。そのため深夜帯の食事はコンビニ等で調達する必要がありますが、周辺にコンビニが無く、最も近くて徒歩で5分程。悪天候時は食料を調達してからチェックインした方がいいかもしれません。 This is the business hotel to closest Sakudaira Station. The cleanliness of the hotel, the small size of the rooms including the bathrooms, and the rather old bathroom facilities are items that can be found in many other business hotels, and if you are used to them, you will not feel particularly uncomfortable. The area around the Sakudaira station is basically quiet, although there are some commercial facilities, so you will be able to spend a comfortable night without feeling any noise. On the other hand, compared to the number of rooms, having only one elevator would be a bit inconvenient. This is because you often have to wait to get to your room or to get down to the first floor. In addition, the elevator cage is small enough to accommodate 10 people without luggage, so if you have a large suitcase, you may have to wait even longer to get on the elevator. There are some restaurants around the hotel, but many of them are closed at night, not to mention late at night. Therefore, you need to be procured late night meals at convenience stores, but there are no convenience stores in the area. The closest one is about a 5-minute walk away. In bad weather, you might want to get some food before you check in.

Had a great stay, the ladies who work here were very nice. The location right by the JR station is great, it is so easy to get to Karuizawa or Nagano via Shinkansen. There is an Aeon Mall nearby for shopping/dining. The free breakfast was delightful and included some nice local dishes. The rental laptop seemed to have an out of date operating system but it got the job done (and is a great amenity to offer). Obviously this isn't a five-star property, but for its category it is a great choice.
