Stayed for ski. People were very nice and friendly. I don’t know if it’s always, but a few staff were able to speak English. If you’re going by Nagaden bus from Nagano station, you need to walk about 200meters from the bus stop. Also, the hotel’s car park is at the same place as the bus stop. You can drop off your luggage at the front of the hotel but the driver have to go back to the parking and walk from there. Breakfast was good, Japanese and continental buffet. WeThe restroom on 1F is amazing! Coffee and tea is served in lobby from 4:00-5:30pm. Wifi available in lobby only. Saw monkey just outside of the hotel. とても親切なスタッフさん達でした。夕食はつけていないのでわかりませんが、朝食ビュッフェはとても美味しかったです。ホテル自体は古そうですが、水回りをメインにリフォームされているので、不自由なく、良かったです。また利用したいと思います。

I stayed here in mid-December 2018 for 4 days. This is the second time that I have stayed at this hotel (my first stay was in February 2017 by myself but this time I came with my whole family – 4 adults in total). It was a truly unforgettable experience. We were treated with a lot of care, consideration and courtesy. The head manager, Misako, was very considerate, kind and approachable. We came here during the early ski season and so many of the slopes did not have a lot of snow; this meant that it was hard getting from one slope to another (as you can’t ski from slope to slope). Misako and her team drove us from one slope to another free of charge which was a very kind gesture. They also drove us to the Snow Monkey Park free of charge. Our reservation was on a half-board basis and we were treated like royalty – the waitering staff were exceptional as was the food itself. We originally booked 1 Japanese-style room for 4 adults but because the hotel was mostly empty, the staff kindly offered another room for free – it was HK$2590 per night for 4 adults half-board inclusive of taxes. The rooms are nice; the common areas haven’t been refurbished for some time but it was still adequate and comfortable enough for us. The Onsen was very nice and very big – one of the biggest ones I have been to in Japan at a hotel. The hotel also has ski boots and skis for hire which is cheaper than the nearby hotels. I am definitely returning here next time I come to Shiga Kogen. 5 stars out of 5.

It is an ok hotel with all the facilities you need. Nice Onsen. Good location for skiing. The dinner was fantastic!!! Definately in need of refurbishment and change of carpets. A bit expensive for what you get.
