Shiga Palace Hotel

This time, a double booking was caused by a hotel error and an alternative hotel was dealt with at the hotel. The service level was reasonable for the alternative hotel, but the problem was the travel agent's response. I received an explanation of the situation over the phone, but I felt uncomfortable with the insistence that it was a matter for the hotel in question. In the end, the only information that changed to an alternative hotel was telephone-based exchanges, and there was nothing on record such as written/emailed correspondence, so I had to check directly with the alternative hotel whether I had a reservation.　 Since the contract is with a travel agent, shouldn't you be responsible for the reactive handling of any hotel errors? * The following ratings "Services" are given as ratings to travel agents. 　Other than those, it will be an alternative hotel rating. 　Therefore, if it is inappropriate for word-of-mouth posting, it is acceptable not to be posted.

This was a last minute decision, as a friend and I were visiting the nearby Snow Monkey Park. The Executive Managing Director picked us up, drove us to the resort, showed us around and even scheduled snowboarding rental equipment for the following day. Her English is excellent, and many of the staff members also speak English. The resort Onsen are very relaxing (both indoor and outdoor), and the chairlifts to the mountain peak are a short walk from the hotel. (I did not personally ski, however my friend did and enjoyed it immensely...) I will definitely come back and possible even try the Ryokan also owned by the same group at the base of the mountain.

We were pleasantly surprised with this awesome destination in the mountains. We had originally planned a day trip to see the snow monkey and loved the area so much we decided to stay. Shiga Palace Hotel / 2307 Yokoteyama is on the slopes, literally right on the doorstep. We had dinner, stayed the night, and hit the slopes the next day. They had all the rental equipment there as well. Easy to get to and had all the amenities for an easy great trip. Can't wait to go back. Super friendly staff, English speaking. They also have a "snow monster" aka snow cat that offers rides on weekends.
