We put a night here before heading to Takayama. It was really a pleasant ryokan. The lady at the counter speaks good english. The ryokan is clean and the onsen is lovely. They also have a family onsen that you can book. The food were also good and for my son they gave really huge portion for a 3 year old. will definitely stay here again, if we are in the area.

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel was not a new one but rooms were big and clean .The room was very comfortable. Daily breakfast and dinner were served and it was different every day. Lots of onsen besides the in-room one and they were very nice. Hotel staff were very knowledgeable of tourist spots in the vicinity and the hotel has provided a free shuttle to send guests to and fro the closest train stations for easier travelling.

I stayed here in March 2016. I absolutely love the environment and everything hotel has to offer. Though, very few people speak English in the hotel but I had no issues communicating with hotel staff. Very courteous staff and management. Being a westerner, I opted to stay in traditional Japanese room which had floor bed and low tables. It was not as comfortable as western rooms. The bathrooms are little and sinks are low. Unlike, western hotels they do not provide little bottles of shampoo/conditioner but two large bottles with pump (reducing plastic usage.. I guess). This hotel is also popular for their natural hot spring pool. Every morning we had breakfast which was traditional Japanese style (many little entries) which I loved.
