After all the negative reviews on this site, we were apprehensive about the resort/hotel. The free shuttle bus was easy to find and available shortly after disembarking from the shinkansen bullet train. Check in ar the hotel was painless, even though the receptionist had limited English. We were agreeably surprised by our room (in block 6, on the 6th floor). The room was quite spacious and had a coffee table, desk with chair and additional sofa bed/couch. We had requested a room with twin beds because that would give us a little more space. The room was clean. We had specifically selected a room with a view of the ski runs. We had arrived at the end of the ski season, so it was very quiet. The bed was comfy, although the pillows were quite flat. It had a good size TV. The shower and bath were good, and, of course it had a smart toilet. The resort has many restaurants spread across the various buildings, all of which are connected without needing to go outside. We opted to walk into town for lunches. The ski Inn/ski out was convenient.

Amazing huge resort with Ski in Ski out experience. Look, this is my first experience staying in a snow resort. It is old and large and as soon as we entered we immediately felt like we were in the shining! All these people complaining must be old boomers who have never stepped foot in anything lower than a 5star Mitchelin Awarded Rydges Lodge, and can't handle a bit of retro vibes. If you're like us, an average mid-20s snowboarding couple traveling from overseas (we r from NZ) then you will LOVE this place

This was our third stay at Prince Naeba Hotel. So we knew the hotel facilities were dated while we prioritized the ski-in ski-out flexibility. HOWEVER, our experience with the hotel this time was very bad. First - the hygiene of the rooms was terrible. The carpet looked dirty and smelled. We found bugs in the room - bugs that looked like cockroaches. Second - the service of the hotel was disastrous. Only a handful of the staff spoke English while most of the guests were foreigners - which meant that everything look longer than necessary. At breakfast and dinner, we would need to snipe our room card but it would always take a while for the staff to register the number of adults and children staying, and whether the package included meals etc. During our stay, there was a singer that had a concert at the hotel and there were many many guests there. The hotel simply could not handle the crowd - both the skiers and the concert-goers - and the dining places were so packed. We had to queue for 20 mins just to take a cup of coffee at the coffee machines at the breakfast place. Lastly, the booking of the hotel shuttle bus (to and from the train station) was a mess. Again, the hotel could not handle the crowd and many people were stuck with no hotel shuttle bus service until the late afternoon even though the hotel required guests to check-out at 10am. We don't think we would come back in the near future.
