The hotel is well placed and the rooms are clean. But we have a choice between a view of a construction site and a blind window. The absence of any care gives lighting and decoration confined to the sublime, it seems like a psychological experiment to measure what the human mind can bear. The bathroom is a cube in height certainly functional but without any amenity. I had to stay 3 nights, I fled after a single night

Pros: 1. Excellent location, directly connected to Okayama station via the Korakuen exit, 600 meters from Aeon mall, and about 1.5 km from Korakuen garden 2. Accommodating and friendly front desk personnel 3. Clean and spacious room 4. Delicious shrimp fried rice for breakfast. Cons: 1. Rooms were a bit dated with little natural light. 2. Unusual room layout in which our bathroom door faces the room door. Bathroom door must also be kept closed otherwise steam from the bathroom may trigger the smoke alarm. 3. Limited food selection at breakfast.

Location is perfect and only a short walk from Okayama JR Station. Best to take the underground passage and there is a lift to the lobby level. I feel Daiwa could improve the check in process though- having to see an agent, then having to go and activate the room key at the machine seems a waste of time. Some rooms it seems have no view at all or natural light. The Standard double Room I booked was a good size, and has all the basics you need, but could use a refresh. WiFi is not great at the hotel and breakfast is not worth having here either.
