We had booked the Terrace club after what we thought was extensive research on the area. The reviews were great and pictures looked nice. However the reality was very different and disappointing. The hotel has clearly not been renovated for a long time. It felt like stepping back into a hotel from 15y ago. The hotel was not kept clean and tidy and many places there were leaves and dirt lying around. The main pool area looked very tired with old beach chairs, parasols on the floor and clearly hadn’t been cleaned around the pool. The pool bar was very dire and NOT what you would expect from a 5 star resort. There were very limited drinks and food on the pool menu and the bar was only serviced half of the time. Mostly it looked like it was closed. A very disappointing experience. One positive was the room which was nice and spacious with a very nice view, however that’s about it for the hotel grounds. I would also flag the hotel shuttle to the airport only leaves one time a day. We had to stop at three different locations (one to drop off some mail to one of the other resorts). The shuttle was rammed and hot. Not a nice way to travel. This can definitely be improved. I do want to thank the hotel staff who made every effort to make our stay special. Special thanks to Peem, Okiyama and Yata. They went above and beyond to make us feel special. I think there is a lot of work to do for the hotel management if they want to call themselves 5star. For starters tidy up the out door areas and make it seem like a clean hotel. The place needs a lot of TLC. I would not recommend staying here and max give it a 3 star rating which doesn’t justify the cost to stay here. By comparison we went for dinner at the Ritz Carlton up the street - THAT felt like a 5 star hotel.

I didn't think the promising Thalasso Selaby was particularly good, rather disappointing. They are stopped before entering the area and checked for hotel check-in status. There are also various rules for using thalasso, so it looks like a restaurant with a lot of orders. You have to walk one way, you have to wear a rash guard, you have to wear no face, you have to wear no makeup, etc. There is a 28m outdoor pool but swimming is not allowed on the hotel beach. Cake in the lounge is also common. Breakfast didn't really impress me, either, and the 90-year-old from the bank said it didn't suit her.

This hotel is absolutely incredible. The hotel itself is gorgeous, modern large bedrooms, gorgeous big balcony and lovely pool. The beach is breathtaking with blue waters. What makes this hotel above the rest is the staff. We stayed for 3 nights from 27th - 30th April and every single staff member was absolutely incredible who couldn’t do enough for you. I saw another review that said no one spoke English but everyone made the effort to speak to us in English, we didn’t need Japanese which shouldn’t be needed but it was really appreciated!!!! The breakfast was so tasty, free tea and cake from 2-4 and free champagne 5-7pm. The only thing I would mention is the buffet at the sister hotel is slightly expensive, around £45pp but really lovely quality food so I would still recommend. I would love to come back. Thanks for an amazing stay!
