Osaka Umeda station is huge and staying at the granvia was so perfect and convenient for our family. Rooms are quiet, clean, compact, and well designed. There are so many shops and restaurants to choose from and although we stayed for several days we still get to all the adjacent malls. Would stay there again!

The location is extremely convenient if you want to use the railway in Osaka. Enter the hotel on the 1st floor near the central south exit of Osaka Station and check in on the 19th floor. Despite staying for two nights in a row, including weekends, I was able to afford to stay in a room where I could not enjoy the view very much (I had visited Osaka many times, and I only slept there that day, so I had no problem). The bedding was not too soft and comfortable. The staff here have a reputation for being very accommodating, and even on that day, I made detailed requests with the way the receipts were written, but they were polite and sincere without a single nasty look. Even small things like this can add up to a reputation as a hotel that can be trusted with services with peace of mind.

The location can be polarizing. My husband and I were traveling to Osaka for the first time, and I hated being right above the busy Osaka train station, but he found it convenient. This station is huge and crowded, so it’s difficult to find your way to the hotel (at least at first). The hotel itself is very nice. The staff is all very kind and the rooms were great. Loved the view of the city from our room on the 25th floor, and even though we were above the station, the hotel was so quiet. Lots of restaurants and cafes are easily accessible and supposedly have discounts for hotel guests but we weren’t able to redeem at any that we went to. There are designated elevators for hotel guests to help avoid the congestion of the train station and shops below.
