Even on arrival at midnight, the reception staff were exceptionally courteous and helpful with my booking. Hotel lobby was very clean. Room was a good size by Japanese standards, and offered a LAN service which was a decent connection. You could hear the train noise, but only faintly, otherwise the hotel was very peaceful. Room was serviced very well, and items replenished daily. Ideally located for train station and amenities, I would thoroughly recommend the hotel as the best in the area.

Excellent location very convenient to the JR station. Look for the signs on how to get there - they are not that noticeable. Our Deluxe Twin was one of the biggest rooms we’ve had on any trip and the biggest we’ve had in Japan. This type of room is only available as a smoking room, but they deodorized it at our request before our arrival and it was fine. One wall had with a floor to ceiling window opening to a large balcony. It got quite chilly near the window but we slept in the bed away from the window wall and it was fine. The "twin" beds were quite large, perhaps equivalent to a US queen size. Hotel staff had little English but were most warm and kind and were able to meet our requests for extra towels and blankets. We did not take the Viking breakfast, but had a look in. We were not impressed. There were convenience stores, a supermarket and restaurants nearby. We did not starve!

Rooms were plenty big enough but a little dated. Beds were a little hard but it was easy to ask for two extra pillows. Staff were very helpful. Breakfast was a bit difficult for two westerners with wheat and lactose allergies! So, we only had breakfast once in the hotel. Bought fruit at the supermarket and used the fridge in the room. Excellent view of Hanno from the room and the glass lift.
