Food, room, and onsen were great. Nothing fancy but excellent for the price.

This hotel has a wonderful ocean view in Atami Izuyama. There is a beautiful lounge on the front floor, and the view from there was very nice. Check-in was at 14:30, so we went early and went to Izusan Shrine first (5-7 minutes walk from the hotel, no need to climb long stone steps). We left our bags and other luggage at the front desk, and they put them in our room. The Japanese-style room on the 7th floor of the hotel has an ocean view, but you can also see the roof and hotel building of the hotel. However, if you sit at a table in the Japanese-style room, you can't see anything else, and you can see the ocean view and the mountains. My wife also said, "What a great view." The room was a combination of a Japanese-style room and a wide veranda, and was about 12 tatami mats in size. There are two keys, and amenities such as yukata, samue, and toothbrushes are available on the front floor. The bathroom in the room is spacious, and the toilet is a state-of-the-art model with an automatic lid. The bath is a large public bath that is alternated between men and women, and the open-air bath is also large. You can see a little bit of the ocean view from the open-air bath. The open-air bath had a sunshade, so it was not exposed to the western sun, and the water was lukewarm, so it was comfortable. The next morning, the open-air bath was hot. The indoor bath had a reclining bath and three bathtubs, one of which was lukewarm. There were many washing areas (about 25 places), and although there were people who were just using the bath for the day, it didn't bother me too much (there were also lockers where you could get your 100 yen coin back). The water pressure in the shower was strong, making it easy to rinse your hair after washing it. Amenities such as lotion were also available, and there was a water cooler in the wash area. We had dinner in a nice restaurant. This time, we had a banquet plan with abalone. We started with a large number of appetizers. Ginkgo leaves and ginkgo nuts were used to garnish the appetizers, which gave them an autumn feel. Every appetizer was delicious. The abalone was grilled and it was very fresh, so I thought I'd like to eat it as sashimi instead of grilled, but I said that briefly, but it was impossible. After that, the sashimi took a while to arrive, and the abalone grilled (butter and lemon) came first, which was a bit disappointing. After the sashimi finally arrived, the freshly fried food came immediately, and the grilled abalone was also ready to be eaten. Both the sashimi and the fried food were very satisfying. The chilled Manganji tofu had a chewy taste, and the boiled red snapper was steamed instead of a sweet boiled fish, which brought out the umami of the red snapper. We ate a lot of rice and dessert. I thought I took pictures of the purple sweet potato and pumpkin pudding, but I didn't. We were talking about how alcohol is probably expensive, but it was reasonable at 1,100 yen for 300cc of Hana no Mai sake and 2,000 yen for a full bottle of Chilean wine. I ordered the Hana no Mai sake, which I thought would go well with the kaiseki dinner. Breakfast was a buffet. I ate my morning meal at a window seat overlooking the ocean. The staff were also very friendly. I would definitely use this hotel again.
