Shin Kadoya Hotel

The building itself retains the feel of the Showa era, and although it is dilapidated, the rooms were renovated and cleaned. There are no handrails on all the stairs, which may be inconvenient for the elderly. I thought it was tough in some rooms. The food in the room was very good and the room attendants were great at serving customers. The outdoor bath in the guest room is also great. Even though it was fully booked, the public bath, the bath in the sky, was also reserved and it was great!! It was an inn I wanted to go to again.

The temperature in the public bath was less than 40°C and I did not sweat. The shower was cold and I caught a cold in about half of the room bath after accumulating hot water for more than 90 minutes.

Spent the night with a family of five (two children and a grandparent). We stayed in a spacious corner suite on the fourth floor, I believe it was room 57. It was a lovely experience. The staff was warm and friendly, and most if not all spoke English. The onsen was hot and relaxing, the rooftop has great views of the harbor which we also had from our private outdoor bath. There were also more onsen on the ground floor. We tried them all, and they are open late so you are not rushed. The food was excellent, really superb. We were served dinner and breakfast in the room, and they even made a special kids menu. During the day we walked down to the harbor about 10 minutes. The only negative comment is that the facilities showed a bit of wear and tear, but it did not affect our stay. For what we paid we all agreed it was a terrific value.
