Hotel Villa Fontaine Tokyo-Nihombashi Hakozaki

Good location, just a few meters from the metro station, grocery, laundry service, thou the are just a few restaurant options. Very clean, nice rooms, kind staff. Very quiet, so it is a good night sleep.

If you don't speak Japanese, don't book this hotel. I was working in Japan, with plans to stay at this hotel my last night there before flying out of Narita Airport. I had problems with my reservation, and wanted to make a special request. 1. I called the phone number for the hotel front desk. I was told they could not speak English, so I should send an email. 2. I sent the email with my request with my reservation number. 4 days later there was no response. 3. I went to the hotel website and saw there was a way to send a special request form form there, which I did, with my reservation number. Again, no response after another 3 days. 4. I walked to the hotel on Feb. 26, 2 days before I was planning to check in, and talked directly with a kind person at the front desk who also claimed not to speak English. I used Google Translate, told them my name, and that I would be checking in on Friday, Feb. 28, asked about how to get to the airport. They gave me a map with the options. BUT . . . what NONE of these experiences did for me was to reveal that they had my reservation date as Feb. 26, and NOT on Feb. 28!! After 4 interactions they did not discover that my reservation was on the wrong date. Yes, I made the error. AND . . .I would have expected any competent hotel to have taken a minute to look up my reservation and alert me to this fact BEFORE it was too late! When I tried to check in on Friday, Feb. 28 they told me my reservation was on Feb. 26, and that they could not refund my money, nor offer me a room at the hotel on Feb 28 even though there were rooms available. I could purchase a room, they offered. NO THANKS! I went elsewhere and paid for a different hotel for that night. Worth it to be away from such poor business management practices.

14 sqm is quite OK for Tokyo. It's small for Malaysian. Otherwise, no complaints. Great staff, wonderful amenities like Pyjamas, nice shampoo, sweet smelling bath wash, everything else. Breakfast is Japanese style, which suits me. A laundry facility that is easily accessible. The train station is nearby and a lot of convince stores and coffee shop for the after dinner stroll.
