Capsule Kinuya Hotel Ikebukuro

Stayed one night with a friend for the "capsule hotel experience". It actually exceeded my expectations. Pretty cheap, and good location. As a warning: Nobody spoke English, but the staff patiently took the time to show us how it works.

MEN ONLY capsule hotel! In the heart of Ikebukuro - lots of earting and drinking options around. A very nice and friendly staff! Helped me to check-in smoothly and even let me go up to my capsule to store the back-pack in the cleaning hours. There are four pairs of double-deck capsules on the sixth floor, probably more on other floors. Each capsule has a locker next to it, enough space for a well-sized back-pack. For eight capsules - two toilets and two sinks, but showers only in the basement, together with the public bath. The capsules are equipped with curtains, not doors. More air, but night ligths get inside the capsule. Wifi only in the reception area on the first floor, no wifi on other floors. Check-out at 10:00 am, nobody can stay there during day-time cleaning, no luggage either. You have to literally vacate the hotel till 16:00. All and all, I would not mind staying there a night again!
