1/3rd Residence Akihabara River Side Service Apartment

Don’t stay here there are too many safety issues. My husband was taking a shower in the bath that was wobbly when the whole bath tipped on its side and he fell with it against a jagged brick architrave with metal sticking out of it. THE BATH WAS NOT PLUMBED IN! It was draining onto the tiled floor that had a drain in it. There are no instructions for any of the many heating,hot water ect. In English. To top it off there are no cupboards or draws in the kitchen the crockery is in a basket on the floor under the bench with the toaster,kettle and a single hot plate. The washing machine is out on the uncovered balcony in the weather full of rainwater. This place is a joke and should be shut until issues addressed. There is more but to much to write I’ll be here all night.

Upon check in had to call someone to front desk, someone isn’t there all the time. The room was large but lacked warmth. The floor is cement with no rugs, slippers were provided but no robes. The washer is outside. The bath tub was not level so rocked when taking shower. There were no wash cloths or hand towels only bath towels. You have to step up to bathroom. The sink plugged up so had to take off cover then a nasty smell can through drain. In the bedroom there was lighted sign for exit and a red light by the sink. These stay on all night so if you want total darkness you won’t get it. The heater makes wind noises too. I would not recommend staying here.

Not sure how this place got 3-5 star ratings. First impression of the check in desk: It was on an unsafe street (so keys were needed at multiple places to get to our room), Check in area was tiny, like a small vendor stand. The room we received was in the same building as the check in. We were not impressed at all; it looked nothing like the pictures. it was more like a warehouse converted into apartments. The filthy washing machine was on the balcony; the balcony door barely locked, the balcony looked over the uninviting street. The rack they provided for drying clothes was old and dirty. Bathrooms were the absolute worst part of the apartment. No towel racks at all. The one hand towel was placed over a bucket (used for who knows what) on the floor. Or was that actually a cleaning rag??? I did not see one towel rack for shower towels. The shower was a handheld that when mounted was only at waist level, so you couldn't use two hands to bathe the top part of yourself. No place around the tub to place shampoo, soap, etc. I wonder if the shower would have drained well if at all. The two toilets and sinks were not clean or modern at all. The second bathroom had barely any room to use the toilet. I've been to timeshares, so I'm used to not having daily cleaning. But at least timeshares will provide replacement towels upon request, extra toilet paper, and soap. Not this apartment!! They didn't even provide paper towels for the kitchen area. And they only had one garbage can that I could find in the apartment. Old, few electrical outlets, and exposed wiring. I got a bug bite from the short time I was there. Overall the room was musty, smelly, and old. Needless to say, we could not stay there. We booked another place and left pronto. I should have taken pictures to post on here, but we were too grossed out to stay any longer than we had to.
