Ryokan Kamogawa Asakusa Hotel

Charming, convenient, peaceful, spotless, with a personable, helpful staff. I stayed two nights and was very pleased with my room which had a small sitting area and en suite bath. I also used the shared bath which was clean and pleasant. I really liked this place and will gladly stay again next time I pass through Tokyo. Price was reasonable. Highly recommended if you like quaint, unpretentious, small inns!

I was torn between staying at a hotel or a ryokan, but I decided to go with a ryokan. I wanted to stay in Asakusa, but most of the ryokans there were quite expensive. This ryokan, however, was relatively affordable. The service and location were also pretty good, so overall, it was a nice choice!

My husband and I stayed at this property for three nights finding ourselves very well LOCATION: in Asakusa, very close to Sensō-ji Temple, close to the subway and the A line that leads directly to the airport. SERVICE : The property is on three floors with elevator. The rooms are those of a Ryokan, the structure and organization perhaps less .On the ground floor there is a dining room with tables. There is also a refrigerator although present in the room. The staff speaks English and is very kind. There is no laundry service ROOM: Ours was a room was a very large standard, with tatami. It was divided into two zones: at the entrance, after taking off the shoes, there was the zone with futons. Then, divided by sliding panels, there was a basic coffee table with chairs, TV, minibar and wardrobe. I think if you wanted there could have been other futons. an area was dedicated to suitcases with more "worn out" tatami. The BATHROOM: The only sore point was the bathroom: there was immediately the toilet while sink and shower were together. I confess we washed ourselves every now and then by turning on the wrong side of the faucet. There were dispensers for soap, shampoo and conditioner. There were yukatas to go to the "family" bathroom where you can wash in a large room and then soak in the hot tub as in onsen or public baths. The bathroom was to be booked, at intervals of 30 minutes each from 16 to 22. BREAKFAST: when we went we were not available breakfast service. It was possible to drink hot or iced tea and have some small treats, but not a real breakfast. For us it was no problem to have breakfast around and taste different products every day VALUE FOR MONEY : we have deliberately chosen this structure although slightly more expensive than others, but very nice and in a great area OVERALL JUDGMENT : absolutely recommended
