Shibuya Excel Hotel Tokyu

Great staff especially Ms Kubota! (I hope I spelled her name correctly)! While shopping on a rainy day and on a crowded street, I slipped and fell. I hit my head hard on the pavement. I went back to the hotel to ask the front desk staff for assistance with getting to a hospital. Ms Kubota contacted a hospital and ordered a taxi. No concussion or hemorrhaging-just a headache and large lump on my head. The next day I saw and she almost ran up to me to ask how I was doing. She stated that she was worried about me. I truly appreciate her concern for my health and well being. All of the front desk staff were great. Another staff allowed me to extend my checkout for a few hours.

We stayed here in Shibuya for 2 nights towards the end of our trip. Location: The hotel is in a good location, right next to the Shibuya Scramble Crossing but it can be confusing and frustrating to find when you first arrive because there is a lot of construction happening around this area and I mean a lot. It is very close to the gorgeous statue of Hachiko which was a daily visit for us. Good area for restaurants, shopping malls, 7-Eleven but this area is very busy and very crowded. I think the main reason to stay here was that our stay was short and we wanted to be close to the crossing and Hachiko statue as we were limited for time. The hotel seems pleasant to stay but we noticed the corridor had a musty unpleasant smell and dragging our suitcases on the carpet on the floor seems unusually difficult, it must need a good clean or something as they weren't as easy to manoeuvre like other hotels. It was really convenient that you could get the Airport Limousine Bus from this hotel which the pickup point was very close by. This was great. Breakfast: Was not included in our room rate despite it been very expensive stay compared to other properties with better standards. I think that is the main reason it is very expensive, it's the location. If I was to stay longer in Shibuya I would probably choose another property more reasonably priced. Staff: Friendly and Helpful Room: Our room was on a higher floor which was good as Shibuya can be very noisy. Our room had two single beds pushed together which was comfortable but as usual for Japan pillows aren't the best.

Very well located hotel for those who like a lot of movement! Stay right in front of Shibuya crossing! Room and bathroom ok (although shower is inside the bathtub) good breakfast!
