Hotel Sunlite Shinjuku

During our Tokyo leg of our Japan trip, we really liked our hotel in the Shinkuju area because it was within walking distance of everything. The rooms are small, typical of Japan, but we didn't mind at all since we only came out in the morning and went back to sleep at night. We were a family of three and we stayed in the room. Centrally located, close to many metro entrances and exits, and conveniently surrounded by Family and Lawson supermarkets for your needs. There's also a bakery near the hotel entrance with delicious items if you're hungry. I gave three stars for service because of breakfast. Breakfast is in the building opposite, open from 7:00 to 9:30 in the morning. We stayed for 6 days, and on three of those days the bread ran out at 9:00 AM for breakfast. When we asked for more, they said they didn't have any, even though many other people came for breakfast. 😠 They started clearing away the breakfast items at 9:15 AM 😠 The breakfast selection was limited, and it's frustrating that an international hotel hosting guests from many parts of the world only serves their own breakfast culture. I honestly went hungry. The welcome and cleanliness were excellent. We had read hotel reviews that said it smelled bad and was dirty, but it wasn't like that at all. Clean towels, toothbrushes, slippers, bathrobes, body sponges, combs, etc., are always readily available. Apart from what happened at breakfast, it's a hotel we would stay at again if we ever find ourselves in Tokyo. We recommend this for those coming to Tokyo.

This hotel is clean and located near train and metro stations. It is also right next to the Kabikocho area. Where you can find great restaurants and shopping. However. The bed was very hard and the room was pretty small.

Not the best hotel i have stayed in, and for my first time in Japan i was expecting a high standard. The room was small, no wardrobe just a small recess with a few coat hangers, the bed was hard, the carpet was stained, breakfast was cold for the 10 days i stayed there. And "some" of the staff were very polite and helpful. For what i paid i was very disappointed.
