The location is great, just a short walk from one of the main streets in Shinjuku and a great base overall. The main train station is not much further to walk either. The hotel was clean and the room was a really good size for Japan with good facilities inside. One of the best aspects was that the walls were thick so barely heard any noise from inside or outside. A very comfortable stay. Only a short walk to the great bars ibn Golden Gai too. The only negative was that the hotel does not offer luggage transfers. Thankfully, it was just a short walk (the other side of the Godzilla Head) to a Yamato office.

I paid for a deluxe double room with a queen-size bed. I had stayed in the same hotel before last March at Room 1011, so I know what I paid for. This time they gave me Room 811, which was a lot smaller, so it must be just the standard double room with a double bed. Even my companion from last time noticed it was a smaller room. I complained about it twice, but the hotel staff insisted I got a deluxe double room. When I was checking in, there was some discussion by the staff, so I suspect they had mistakenly given my deluxe double room to someone else. Japan is known for its honesty, so it is very disappointing to encounter this there. Also, the airconditioner in the room I was given was not getting cold, so I had to open the window. Better to take your business somewhere else.

Hotel Siena is located right in the heart of Shinjuku surrounded by plenty of restaurants and bars and a very few meters from Toho Cinema. The distance made it ideal for me as I easily walked back after drinks with friends ans easily walked to the station the next morning for more work.
