Shinjuku Prince Hotel

Terrible hotel do not stay! Let me tell you why I think this hotel should get a low rating 1) when we arrived around 9pm the first night out the front the street was very crowded and we quickly realised that this hotel in not located in a good family friendly location there were loads of drunk people and one person vomiting it’s definitely not a section of Shinjuku that I would stay at with kids, one morning there were police right out the from measuring off a street crime scene that must have happened during the night also when we checked out at 6am the final day there was a young man slumped on the footpath with a security guard attending to him. Whatever you do always turn right from the main entrance towards one of the main roads as turning left is the seedy end of town. Actually I would suggest you stay in a better location. 2) the rooms are very small and bed and pillows are very uncomfortable I couldn’t sleep well for 3 nights as the bed squeaked and was rock hard. 3) as the prince hotel is next to the railway it is very noisy. The hotel I am at right now in Osaka is also just as close to the railway but I can’t hear the trains so the prince hotel has a problem with noise. Finally 4) their staff are so unfriendly can hardly speak English and won’t help you at all. They need English lessons if they want international tourists and they need a lesson on good customer service and attending to their customer needs also their luggage storage policy is horrible. I wanted to store my luggage for one night and they refused despite their policy on their website. They don’t care at all . There are plenty of good hotels in Shinjuku I regret choosing this one as the location looked good on their website it is not family friendly I described it to my daughter as an upmarket backpackers

It was terrible. The room was very small, and the air conditioning couldn't be adjusted—it was stuck at 24–25°C so the room is very hot, I couldn't sleep properly. The staff were unfriendly, too. I had purchased a package that included breakfast via the official website, but at the last day, they demanded I pay for breakfast all over again It was an appalling experience. Furthermore, the station near the hotel is a private compnay that is practically useless, making the location very inconvenient. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone.

The Shinjuku Prince Hotel delivered an outstanding overall experience including its exceptional staff. From arrival to departure, the team consistently demonstrated a proactive and genuinely motivated approach to assisting with any request. They went beyond what was required without hesitation, never appearing frustrated or inconvenienced, and remained consistently kind, polite, and professional throughout. It was especially refreshing to experience this level of service in a setting where tipping is not part of the culture, yet hospitality felt even more attentive and sincere than expected. Housekeeping was equally impressive. Rooms were serviced daily to a high standard, with excellent attention to cleanliness and comfort. The hotel’s location is another major highlight. Situated near JR East Shinjuku Station and directly connected to surrounding shopping areas, The hotel is also centrally located for restaurants, entertainment, transport links and steps away from the famous Kabukichō area. Overall, the combination of outstanding staff, excellent housekeeping, and a prime central location made the Shinjuku Prince Hotel the perfect place for our first trip to Japan.
