It's a normal business hotel. It's a 5-6 minute walk from the west exit of Shimonoseki Station. It's about 30 minutes from Kokura Station, but there are only 2-3 trains per hour. If you're in a room facing east, freight trains pass by in the middle of the night, so it's noisy if you open the window. There were no microwaves anywhere in the hotel.

It's a short walk from Shimonoseki Station. As the guide says, there are no convenience stores nearby, so I recommend buying what you need at the station. The room was clean and comfortable. The front desk staff were kind and polite.

I was there for the firework on 13 August and was lucky to find room in this hotel when nearly all hotels were full. What surprised me was that they did not ask for an outrageous room rate when they probably could. There was another hotel, of at least one star less, asking for more than double of what I had paid. Staff at the front desk is helpful and speaks reasonably good English and they provide a free breakfast though pretty simple with rolls, egg, juice, soup and coffee only. And of course the location is good for it is very close to the JR station.
