Al Bstaki International Hotel

The hotel is 15 minutes from the airport and close to the center of the city. Check-in was swift, the staff helpful. I stayed in the older tower. Room was average and ageing however clean and kept well, the newer tower has better rooms. The breakfast, gym and pool facilities were located in the new tower. The gym was good and well kept. The breakfast buffet was average - not a lot of fresh items on.

I don’t know if the hotel was that bad or simply that’s Kuwait. Service wise most of the staff were polite but as far as giving any local information or being accommodating for simple requests they weren’t very helpful at all. The room was large but actually kind of dirty and old and shabby looking. I doubt they’ve been done up in a long time. They also had a lingering smell of general old dank. The windows were filthy to the point you couldn’t see out much, there was a lot of building work going on outside, the location is quite far out from city centre malls and souk. The tv was broken a couple of the lights didn’t work and the balcony was closed. Very surprisingly the food was actually great, good selection and delicious, room service was also very quick and it’s reasonably priced too. Breakfast buffet was massive and all good too. Room was 212€ for 2 nights and they allowed me an early check in so I don’t know if that’s very cheap or a lot for Kuwait but defo wasn’t great.

Well located, staff is helpful, room is quiet and spacious with nice views. Good breakfast is served in the room. For its price range, a very good value for money. Only good things to say about my stay.
