Kingfisher Ecolodge

The restaurant is of a great mediocrity, out of 4 people, none were satisfied with their dish , pork sautéed hard and dry on a bed of raw cabbage , the same for the chicken dish and without herbs or spices , dry tofu still , all for twice as expensive as in any other restaurant. Disappointment...

The lodge is in a great location just beside a major wetland area. The setting is tranquil and the nearby village is very traditional The room was clean tidy and comfortable The staff were fantastic The restaurant was good - excellent freshly cooked food and very reasonable prices The issues …. The area is being challenged and compromised by development so it is not the eco haven it was when the lodge was first built The current owner is an absentee landlord who has never visited the property. The lack of interest is shown in poor upkeep of the swimming pool area and other common spaces / broken tiles by the pool and a decking area that is becoming unsafe. Unless investment is put in soon this facility will not meet the expectation that visitors will have given the nightly cost of accommodation The showers were also an issue- solar power water heaters do not give the pressure required for a decent shower

It was probably once very nice here - but it looks like the facility has not been maintained for a very long time. Probably the last time before Corona. The swimming pool became an algae cauldron with throngs of children from the village. We were nonchalantly advised that pool cleaning was not possible due to power failure. On the terrace of our bungalow we did not get - for that first had to get tools. I don't like to imagine at the moment what the food will be like....
