Villa Ban Lao

I had a "C" cottage room just off of the swimming pool. Note that there is also a large Koi pond. The picture is outdated as they've painted all of the buildings white. My room had a king bed which was comfortable except for the down blanket with duvet cover, which is a little much for a warm climate. There are no top sheets. HVAC banged all night long. I had to shut it off and use the ceiling fan instead. Any noise outside the room is easily heard, so i recommend using ear plugs. The room comes equipped with an air cleaner, drink fridge that holds 6 drinks which are included. There is a small tablet which provides all of the hotel details. The room also has wifi, USB outlets and a TV which gets no English speaking channels at all. The pool has a swim up bar. There is a buffet breakfast which is just ok. This is not included unless you've prepaid for it while making reservations. The lobby is nicely appointed. I love the electric cars that they will transport you in if needed. Airport is 10 min away however the hotel is in the flight path. There isn't much air traffic at this time. High season has just started Nov. 1. There's a spa and gym on site. Pool has a swim up bar.

This place is way underated! Top notch service in every way. Very clean, modern automation, friendly and accomidating. Website doesnt give it justice. The restraunt is 5 stars as well very elegant and didnt miss a beat. The town is a bit dirty but was expected in poor country.

Staff in all areas were friendly and helpful. Rooms were large . Lighting was high tech! Beds were very comfortable. We asked for a quiet room and got one. Staff rescued us a couple of times: we left our key in room, and large spider in room! Loved the shuttle service. Great fitness room. Best on our trip so far. Liked the informal book exchange. One issue was lack of towels at pool.
