We had booked this hotel for two main reasons; having a Wi-Fi connection at every room as advertised and air-conditioning. First of all, there was only one network to connect and even though, the signal quality was high, the connection was horrible. We had no connection at all in the morning and it was good only for texting when you had the connection. Secondly, the air-conditioning didn't operate well. The remote control was also problematic. By the way, there is no city view as advertised either but a window looking at the street is all. Moreover, the location is so noisy and the yard is always busy. There are too many people for a such small property. We definitely didn't get what we paid for.

Check In Date : 31st August 2022.
Check Out Date : 1st September 2022.
Loction : The hotel is located in the city region. Depends on what and where people perceive of what city centre is, but this hotel is not exactly central. I consider the area within walking distance to Wat Sisaket to be central. This hotel is located a bit tucked in from the main road. The nearest monument is Patouxay Monument. Heading to Patuxay took 10mins walk so heading to the old town region took almost 30mins and 40mins to the night market. But we only stay for a very short stay and we need to use the airport, so we dont think much about it. The road in front of the hotel is quite lively. There is some eateries, some groceries shops, and some local restaurants not frequented by tourists. Foods are cheaper in the area.
Reception and lounge : The reception area is small, dusty and dull. The check in counter is a bit messy however again, we dont think about it much. The recep is connected to the house owner's living room. The check in was quick but the lady speaks very limited somewhat strange english. Seeing a dozen tourists (mostly western) in the pool, we wonders how the recep person communicate. The area is not well lit and not cooled at all. We use the ironing station, and we were soaked wet.
Room : The room is in the second floor for us. The size is massive, the AC works well, the bathroom is massive and it is clean. The windows have housing area view and the rest of the room are just comfy for such price. The bed is soft but the blanket is thin. The room is enough for us to sleep.
Surrounding : The swimming pool is small, we didnt get to try it. The area is reasonably clean minus the dead leaves. There is a seating area next to the pool with full of people smoking. The ashtrays are full and it smells bad.
Satisfaction : For a budget traveller, this place should be sufficient. It has a good vibe and the area isnt that bad at all. We only stay for 12 hours before we flew away to other country. It is sufficient for us.

Having spent 6 days walking the sites of Loas, I determined that I would stay somewhere affordable with a pool, and this place seemed to fit the bill. And indeed it has a good new pool, and is easy on the wallet. When I arrived there, after a long journey and no breakfast I was tired, hungry and thirsty. I asked if they served food. No. Beer? No. Soft drink? No. Snacks, no. All of which was very frustrating as the owners family were all sitting down to lunch in the hotel reception, and as I passed the kitchen, there was still cooking food !!.They spoke very little English, so I was pointed down the road. Found a place not too far away that served crisps and beer so brought some back to eat by the pool. Then I discovered that the only options to sit on are hard stone or metal stools or seats. No loungers to lie back and relax on. Criminal mistake !
It's a good 25 minute walk into town, down dusty, hot side streets, but I knew the distance from the booking page, and it's reflected in the price.
The wifi is not great, but that might be a limitation of the national infrastructure rather than the hotel.
The rooms are tired, outdated and basic, but again, that's reflected in the price. The A/c worked. The shower worked and the bed was firm and comfortable.
I would have given the place 5 stars for value, but unfortunately have to downgrade that because of the lack of facilities, and the lack of business acumen.
My recommendation to the hotel:
Put loungers by the pool. Otherwise you're wasting a great asset.
Stock a fridge with drinks for your guests. Enhance your service and make a profit!
Stock some simple, non perishable snacks, like pot noodle or crisps (chips) , tea, coffee etc. Again, improve your service offering and make a profit !
Move the tall plants which obstruct the pool view from the ground floor cabins and seating area.
Move them to cover the ugly, bare wall which divides the property from the next door building.
Empty more often, and place more discretely, the ugly waste bins which sit right beside the pool side stone seats.
Print a little information sheet for your guests. You're in the middle of nowhere, so guests would benefit from a local map of food shops, eateries, tuk-tuk services etc.
make the "hotel" reception area look more like an hotel, rather than a living space for your family to congregate, eat, and sleep in.
