Vang Vieng Eco Lodge

I stayed one night in a double room in this hotel. There was no elevator and the stairs are narrow. There is no hot water on the upper floors. The breakfast is poor. Towels are missing. To improve

This is the first time I have reviewed anything less than 4 or 5 stars...this is not a complaint, just an honest review... We stayed here for a week and probably would not stay again. The location is great and the staff are fine (indifferent, if anything). Spent most of their time on their phones. The beds are so hard, so much so that my body ached whilst trying to sleep. The hotel is extremely noisy...you can hear everyone coming and going and the doors slam, which seemed to happen at all hours of the night. They also have a funny alarm system if you don’t close them quick enough, so that also played out many times a night. Rooms were cleaned daily , which was a positive. The pool had toilet paper in it and we told the staff but this remained uncleaned for our entire stay.

We stayed here for 2 nights. The staff at the front desk were helpful and their English was perfectly fine. The rooms are basic, we had some belongings left in the closet from the previous guests and that was a bit gross. The beds are very hard, but for $10 CAD a night, we managed just fine. The hallways can produce a very loud echo, so bring each plugs. Breakfast was included and there were a few options in the buffet to get your day started. We booked a mini van to get us to Vientiane but somehow ended up on a large bus... Not what we expected or paid for. We also rented a scooter from the hotel and the woman had quoted us 80K kip but when we signed the agreement 60K kip was the price listed... she tried to say it was still 80K, but eventually gave into the written price. Good location with access to everything and lots of food choices nearby! Also not a party hotel, so if you can stand hearing a some neighbours coming and going, you’ll get a good sleep.
