Friendly welcome, nice room with street view. But which was very loud until night. Breakfast okay. The location close to the Mekong and shops is also good.

We stayed 6 nights at Lao Orchid Hotel. The hotel is centrally located, close to many restaurants, cafes, Wats (temples), and the massive food market at night. The hotel served good breakfast with good variety of food. Our room was comfortable, and the hotel staff were very nice. We paid US$60 a night, and we also booked airport and train station transfers with a charge. This was our first time visiting Vientiane, Laos. I highly recommend this hotel. And if you are Canadians like us, there is a Canadian-owned bakery called Joma nearby the hotel, it is like a Tim Horton, and they sell multi-grain bagels. Also, if you are a traveller like us, not a tourist, visit the massive food market at night close to the hotel (not the night market by the river), you will get to know the Lao people, the food, the music, the culture, you won't be disappointed. And visit the Common Ground Cafe next to the hotel. They serve the best pull-pork sandwich and potato salad combo, and ginger tea.

Conveniently located near the center and close to the Mekong Nice room, Decent buffet breakfast served on the terrace on street. Quite quiet The night market at the end of the street offers only Chinese counterfeits.
