We stayed here for 7 days as a family in 2 adjoining rain forest chalets. The check in was straight forward and we were shuttled to our rooms which seemed to be deep in the forest. The rooms themselves were basic but small and dated, the fittings and furniture was tired and worn, which was the same for the bathroom, which needs updating. This was a running theme throughout the resort, which felt that it would have been amazing in the 1990s but now seems dated and old. We ate at the various restaurants over our stay, all of which were average rather than exceptional. There isn't many options to eat nearby the hotel, but it is cheap enough to get a Grab taxi and go to a restaurant, some good local and cheap options at the foot of the 7 Wells Warerfall and a bit further away for exceptional food at The Fat Frog. The beach was nice and one of the better ones on the island. Some of the staff weren't forthcoming with information or gave the wrong information, for example on the day we arrived there was a fire show that evening but we weren't told also at breakfast i asked if any of the pastries were eggless and I was told no, but a few days later another chef told me that they have eggless options daily (these are not labeled). Overall this is a nice place to stay, but no longer warrants 5 star status expecially given the price. Tips, book trips and excursions from the tour operators at Chenneng beach to save money. Do visit the sky cab and the amazing 7 wells waterfall.

A nature resort has one basic responsibility: not to ruin the connection between its guests and the nature surrounding them. Unfortunately, The Berjaya Langkawi fails at this. The setting is spectacular, but the resort itself constantly pollutes the experience with noise and exhaust fumes. On the beach, tractors move boats and jet skis around, while service trucks regularly pass through , so instead of fresh sea air, you often breathe diesel fumes.

We spent 2 nights here at the end of af a 2 week Malaysia/Singapore trip. The beach is on a bay, so the water is exceptionally calm and perfect temperature. Sand is white and soft. The surroundings, with the rainforest and mountains, feels like something out of Jurrassic park. Love the hotel rooms - Each room is its on little villa, which is a nice toich. We had rainforest view villlas, and had monkeys on the porch in the morning. I wish the property had more activities. There is no snorkeling on the property, and the stand up paddle boaring was broken, and bird watching not happening the week I was there. Too wet for paddle board or tennis. food is good - much better than standard all inclusives, but just be prepared for a LONG wait time for food to be prepared and delievered. Free afternoon coffee/snacks at Beachside is a nice touch. There was no one to take dirnk orders on the beach.
