Phoenix Hotel Kuala Lumpur

We stayed there two nights because all the other hotels we were looking for were fully booked. The room was average and the carpet was covered with a few big stains. Also the bed sheets had stains. The best thing in the room was the new TV with a couple of English TV channels. Lucky we, that we bought some earplugs, otherwise I couldn't sleep since the hotel is located right on a big street.

The hotel is not too bad, nice lobby, ok bathroom and nice decorations for the chinese new year...however, the rooms are really small (Zen room), quite loud due to the big road next to the hotel, and the neighborhood does not seem to be very friendly and safe. Additionally, the sheets and towels were very dirty and stank horrible upon arrival...When we asked the staff to change them, nothing happened. Even after the reception sent one of the staff to the room to check, nothing was followed up. We had to go downstairs another time, the guy was just sitting there, doing nothing??! Overall not very helpful... Would not go here again, mainly because of the service and bad area...there are many hotels in the same price range, which are a lot nicer and in a better area.

Tiny rooms, bad neighborhood, noisy at night. Bring your own shower gel and toothbrushes. People giving this place excellent reviews probably never been here. No decent food around. Free internet though.
