Galileo Guest House

The owner is so helpful and welcoming. The guesthouse is on a lovely street in a great location. Very reasonable prices. Good facilities - can use the fridge, bowls, plates etc. Would definitely recommend staying here.

My wife and I stayed at the Galileo Guest House for 4 nights with our wee 6 month baby. From the moment we arrived Joe and his partner were so friendly and helpful (possibly to do with their obsession with our young toddler??). Joe went out of his way to make sure our stay was comfortable and informed us of the best places to go, not only in Malaka, but across Malaysia. The location is perfect in the centre of China town and within easy walking distance of all major attractions and for coming back to your room to escape the mid afternoon heat. We stayed in a room with an attached bathroom. The room was adequate and for such a cheap price it was what you would expect. The place is very peaceful and the bed extremely comfortable. They also provide a computer in the room at no extra charge. You also at no extra charge have access to fruit and bread and hot water. If you want a good cheap option with a wonderfully friendly staff then stay here!!

Bed sheet and blanket getting so old that they don't feel clean. The room had unpleasant smell, probably from old curtain or air conditioning unit. The plus sides would be clean bathroom, friendly staff, and its strategic location. But its room condition deterred me from visiting for the third time.
