Jay Hotel

a very disappointing stay. very unlike what is posted online. the air-cond was not functioning at all - made a complain at 1700 but still no action taken at 2030. no other available room and 2 broken fans were given to compensate the non-functioning air-cond. reason why air-cond cannot be fixed and answer was "no maintenance on a saturday". no words or apology, nothing... staffs were rude and all they could utter was "tak tau" (a malay word and it simply "don't know" in the english language. though it's right in the middle of the town, i do not think that its that 'safe'. this is one hotel i will never step into ever again. think twice before booking.

The family room in the deluxe floor was priced right at rm168 compared to similarly situated places that were charging between rm170-248. Pros - central location, just 10 min walk to CIQ - surrounded with restaurants. Of mention was nilas just across the temple, that's a 5 min walkaway. Had dinner n brekkie which was good - large room with good sized ensuite - comfy queen beds - free parking - tiled floors in the room which was miles better than the tired carpeting in the corridors Cons - tired n stained carpet at corridors - dank old smell at reception, corridors n room could do with deodorizer - old hotel, but they are some refurbishments happening at rooms Staff could be more friendly. The second staff in the morning was actually better n offered an explanation on the low water pressure. OK for one night stay n unfussy traveling

I stayed in Jay hotel for a night on the way to Singapore. It was advertised on the web as a basic but decent 3 stars hotel. Instead of a decent hotel I have found a cave with holes in the walls, broken windows, a coffee maker full of ants, a wet bathroom with broken pipes, a dirty hostel that cannot be ranked at all. Do not go there, I will not do that mistake again for sure.
