An older hotel that sits just outside of Tahah Rata. We took a grab from the bus station to get to the lobby’s Staff are generally helpful and friendly. Check in was smooth and quick. Based on other reviews, guest experience may depend if you stay in a newer wing or older wing. We were given a room in the older wing on the 4th floor. The room was a good size but needed a through deep cleaning and some repair of the closet doors and the door concealing the fridge. the amount of dust and possible mildew in the room set off my wife’s allergies. The bathroom tile likewise needed a deeper cleaning to clear mildew in corners. The shower had good hot water with average water pressure. Breakfast Buffet was good with a mix of Western and Malaysian options. We ate other meals in town either walking into town or ordering a Grab. We did consider the hotel dinner buffet our first night but opted to go into town instead. A common area with few table games like Air Hockey is a nice feature. The vintage photos throughout are also great. We used the library to do some work though all of the books are in Chinese or Japanese. I would not recommend this hotel for the price we paid and would stay somewhere else the next time we are in Cameron Heights.

I wouldn't go back. The room had a closet light that wouldn't turn off and a noise whose source was unknown, so I was awake all night. Abundant breakfast but not of good quality. I had an egg and wanted some salt; there should have been a salt shaker without pepper (I am allergic to pepper and chili). Toilet paper? Make do with what you have because an extra roll, like in all respectable hotels, is not available. You may wonder why you didn't ask for it? Because by then it was all about asking.
