Georgetown City Hotel

My friend and myself arrived around 11.30am and we were granted an early checkin. Once we checked the room, we found the room had cigarette smell and the desk was full of leftover sugar. We called the chambermaid to have a quick clearing up on the table and to spray some air freshener. The hotel is located far bit from the town area but thanks to the good transportation in Penang, our journey to town area was not that bad. 7-Eleven is located next to the property so if you need to get something to eat or anything, it would be very easy. Overall, it was an average stay and I'm not sure if I will be back to this property in the future.

Situated directly opposite The Adventist Hospital the hotels main restaurant offers good reasonably priced meals in a very pleasant location. I had the fish and chips with garden salad. The fish was very fresh and tasty. The menu provides a good selection of both western and Asian foods.

The best of this hotel is only the location. The location is only a few step from adventist hospital while people get easy to go to the hospital for medical check up. Service was poor at the reception office. Check in was too long to wait only to get a key card and just to find out that the key card could not access to our room. We went down and up for 3 times to inform a woman incharge in the reception, she had tried to change 2 times but still failed to enter our room. And the third times she went up with master key to open our room, but we questioned her how we open the room later since we could access the room with our key card. She just replied us later I give it to you. I could not accept so I follow her to the reception. But to my surprised she just leaved a problem to her friend because she was already off duty. Ridiculously her friend just told me to repair it later. After debating for a while she finally changed the room to another room. Breakfast has improved a lot comparing to previous year when I stayed there.
