Laguna Redang Island Resort

We stayed at Laguna Redang Island Resort, Terengganu, Malaysia, from 24 to 26 November with my wife and family members. We enjoyed our stay so much that we decided to extend our holiday for another night and checked out on 27 November. Our rooms were 818 and 820. Overall, we really enjoyed our experience at the resort. From the lobby, restaurants and café, room service, and especially the staff at Laguna Redang Dive Centre, everything was great. The staff were friendly, helpful, and provided excellent service throughout our stay. I also have a food allergy, and I really appreciated that the resort staff were willing to accommodate my dietary requirements and customise the food for me. This gave me peace of mind and made our stay much more enjoyable. The main reason we extended our stay was because we loved Redang Island and were very happy with the service provided by the hotel staff. It was a relaxing and memorable experience. One suggestion for improvement would be communication with the resort before the stay. The hotel requires all communications and enquiries to be made via email with its office in Selangor. Having a more accessible and responsive direct contact line for guests would make the overall experience even better. Other than that, we had a wonderful stay and would be happy to return to Laguna Redang Island Resort again.

Laguna Redang primary target is a mass individual booking guests/customers. If u do the booking but opted to take a private tour, the staff will treat you secondarily. We were not offered buggy ride on arrival from the jetty to the reception despite the staff saw us walking with big bags and kids while they were on the way back to the resort with an empty buggy. The reason was, we did not inform them earlier which is true. I did not book as I do not expect the walking to be uphill for over 100m! Same goes on our way back from PRIVATE boat tour. No buggy ride as they have to handle the mass arrival guests/customers 1st. Very unprofessional. Poor judgement immature decision. We also did not intent to take other customers turn/place/seat. Just provide us the small buggy. The only time we got the precious buggy was when there was not used by the mass group!

I strongly advise against this hotel. The service is mediocre. The dining is horrible. It was impossible for us to enter the restaurant because the smell is horrible and the tourists were stepping on each other to serve themselves. Hotel frequented by more than 95% Chinese tourists. Redang is magnificent but I advise choosing another hotel to enjoy your stay. The cleanliness of the rooms is also not up to par.
