Arwana Perhentian Resort

At first glance, the Arwana Perhentian Resort is very beautiful — probably one of the prettiest hotels on this side of the beach. Breakfast is quite correct in terms of variety, but unfortunately the dishes are always cold and are not kept warm. Quantities are also not suitable: after 8:00, there were already no pancakes or muffins for the children. The swimming pool is not well maintained and has proven to be dangerous. Our son was sucked in by the evacuation system, which caused him a severe bruise. We immediately informed the reception, but the only response was a simple “sorry”, a cream, and the suggestion to go to an island clinic. As we were only staying two nights after a long journey, we chose to use the cream and asked for a gesture of compensation. The hotel agreed to refund us for a snorkeling trip we had already paid for. However, despite their promise to make the refund within 7 days, two weeks later we have still not received anything and they no longer reply to our messages. Added to this is the total absence of Wi-Fi throughout the hotel, which is very restrictive, as well as extremely dark rooms, not pleasant to live in. Lack of security, disappointing customer Service and failure to meet their commitments make it absolutely impossible for me to recommend this hotel — even if it looks beautiful from the outside.

The hotel does not deserve its price , excessively expensive for the quality , be it in terms of the quality of the breakfast , the cleanliness of the establishment and the room but especially the pool which is impossible to put a toe and on the beach which is just black due to human pollution and boats , and dirty full of garbage impossible to enjoy ... I put two stars for the kindness of the staff and the food of the restaurant which remains good apart from the waiting time. I advise you to spend your way on this hotel especially given the price. Lots of power cut (2 in 1 day that lasted more than 1 hour each...)

We stayed 4 nights at the Arwana Resort. All in all All in all, it was a nice stay. With a few caveats. It's a beautiful bay for relaxing, snorkeling, diving...just hanging out! The resort has certainly seen better days. As it was dripping from our ceiling in the bathroom on the upper floor, we were quickly given a new room. Good so far! In the new room, the toilet drain was partially leaking. It also smells a lot like sewage on the beach side, which really takes the charm out of the whole thing. The staff are very nice and clearly make an effort. You get the impression that they sometimes need an expert to show them how to do it properly. But so be it. Perhentian Island is worth a visit...
