Casuarina Resort and Spa

In this resort equipped with two outdoor pools, a gym and a spa and beach access, I had an extremely good time and I recommend it. The staff is very kind, and thanks to Patrima we always found the room clean and tidy.

We had a great holiday here. Lovely, large room with everything you need -kettle, safe, drinks fridge, balcony etc. Two pools (that were never busy), with plenty of sun loungers -mostly in the shade. Drinks choice on the all inclusive was fairly limited, but included all the basic spirits and a few cocktails. The beach (just across the road) is beautiful and has inclusive drinks service (very infrequent, but you can go to the bar yourself). Toilets at the beach (in a hut next to a massage room). Watersports were inclusive -canoes (single or double), glass bottomed boat (you need to book this), pedalos, windsurfing. Not a lot else in the area -you can walk to the nearest town or catch a bus/ taxi into Grand Bahia (we ate out here one night and really enjoyed it -Banana Beach club). We took a long walk each way along the beach -towards Grand Bahia was nice -found a wooded area with food & drink trucks where lots of local were hanging out - lovely atmosphere there. We got quite friendly with the staff and they were very good with us -brought drinks regularly in glasses (rather than the standard plastic tumblers) and saved our tables etc. Not quite a 5 star as the food and drink was ok but not excellent. My husband (who is more picky than me) found it difficult to make a meal out of the food options -there was plenty of choice, but they didn't always complement each other well! Would give it 4.5 if that was an option!

Apart from the reception staff, no one says hello, or even responds when you greet them. The bathroom is old, non-functional (faucet that does not close, shower door that only closes if you force it), and poorly maintained (toilet with limescale, parts of the floor that never see a mop, ...). The common areas are in perfect condition. There is no ocean view.
