Club Cantamar

We went on March 10, 2026 to take the tour they offer there in their hotel that by the way they canceled it when we had already arrived there , and their employee who was on the morning shift at the reception behaved super rude to us, not letting my daughter into the bathroom , and not wanting to make the refund of the parking that we had already paid $250 for just going around in vain and not being able to take the tour , besides Mr. ran us from his hotel literally saying that it was private property and that we could no longer stay there because we had already canceled the tour , he is a most nefarious person, rude and unprofessional , I do not know how they can have such an employee , take care and review the staff that hire why those types of people should not work in tourist places where customers deserve respect and good care , not run us from their facilities , apparently this Mr. feels with the power to mistreat people😬

We went to the place for breakfast and opted to pay the 200 peso price (per person) for the day pass to use their facilities, beach area and pool. The breakfast food wasn’t terrible but not amazing either. We had typical breakfast items and drank lemonade and coffee. There was only one waiter for the entire restaurant although we were the only guests. Also they don’t serve any alcohol at all. But they might be a BYOB establishment, not sure. After our breakfast we paid for the day passes. The beach area was clean and we had it mostly to ourselves. The provided chairs were very basic 10-buck chairs that didn’t recline at all. They were dollar-store quality essentially. The palapa was all in bad shape and also very low. I’m short stature and I hit my head on one of the iron rods of the palapa. I can’t imagine if you are tall how much you have to avoid that. After the beach area we went to the pool and by then it was crowded with families with kids. Of course there is no lifeguard but also they don’t have any life saving device like a long pole or any ring. And the deep area of the pool is at least 8 feet deep. I stress do not allow any children in your care to go into the deep end unless they are good swimmers. The area is decently accessible for handicapped people except for the bathrooms because there are some steps with no railings at all. I suggested to them to add this. Although there is a shower outside to rinse off any sand , the restrooms do not have any showers. This review is only for the facilities and restaurant, not for the hotel. This place was ok, cheap as far as a resort day pass is concerned , but you get what you pay for. Keep your expectations low if you plan to go there.

A spacious, cool space with a beautiful view of the beach. We very much appreciate the flexibility for entry and exit that were at unusual times. And the staff attentive.
