DO NOT BOOK A ROOM AT THIS HOTEL THROUGH A TRAVEL COMPANY. Hotel is under new ownership and does not have relationship with any of the major travel agencies. There were dozens of travelers looking for alternate accommodations because the hotel didn't have their reservation. We booked with Expedia, our friends booked with Booking.com and had to find another place to stay. Expedia still charged my credit card for the stay. Every time we walked by the hotel there was someone standing outside the hotel looking for alternate accommodations.

Situated on the main square of Loreto,
we had a 2 night and a little later, a 1
night stay and overall we enjoyed it but -
see later. It is quite small with around
15 rooms with each room being
identified by flowers, ours being a lily
on both occasions with the room having a great
lily picture within the room and other great pictures.
The room was comfortable and basically covered all of
our needs though the coffee machine failed
to work on our last night.
There is an attractive inner court yard, where the
room for breakfast is located
Breakfast was simple but good.
The hotel is on a lovely square with a number of
quality restaurants close by.
There was a negative though. There is
a roof top terrace with decent
seating and a pool but the bar there was not open
on any of the days we were there so there
was no opportunity to enjoy an evening
drink there. A shame as we are sure it
would have added to our stay and
pushed the rating to 5.

The hotel itself is charming, and the staff is wonderful, but I wouldn’t stay here again. That said, they seemed to be in the process of renovating (maybe—or maybe just closed these areas?), so the rooftop pool, bar and upper deck weren’t open. The small breakfast room also wasn’t open, and breakfast was served at the small cafe next door (meh). This was shortly after Christmas through New Year’s, which I wouldn’t have thought was an off time …
For sure this would’ve made the stay more enjoyable the hotel was fully open. You’ll also definitely need earplugs for the street noise and random mission bells that ring at off times (not on the hour, or even anywhere close to the correct rings for a particular hour—obviously NOT the hotel’s fault!). The air conditioned rooms are comfortable but dark.
We appreciated all the bottled water, sodas and a nice basket of snacks in the rooms, and the housekeeping staff were happy to give us extra water and creamer for the coffee as needed. The state of the hotel is by no means the fault of the staff, so I want to emphasize that they were very gracious and as helpful as they could be.
This certainly has the potential to be a lovely stay, and hopefully they’ll remedy this in the future. It’s a beautiful property in a great location and friends who’ve stayed a few years ago loved it.
