Hacienda del Rio

Excellent hotel, very clean and safe, near the gastronomic corridor of Tijuana and Zona Río. The beds are very comfortable and the room is spacious, with all the needs that guests need. Likewise, the restaurant is very good, especially the breakfasts.

There are the unusual things that you expect from going to a country you are not familiar with. Bad water pressure. Some things nice, others in a state of disrepair. But the one thing that irks me is that me and my wife came here to visit friends who live in Tijuana and the hotel would not let them visit us in our room! I guess they're being greedy and want to make sure that only two people and not 4 stayed here but it's really ridiculous. I even asked the desk clerk if I could escort my friends back down after their visit and show that they were leaving, but they still said no. So we transferred to another hotel...talk about bad service!

I typically stay at the Fairfield when I come for med appts but a friend recommended so I decided to try. I explained my allergies/sensitivities and had hoped to pay later but they insisted I pay in advance. After just a few min in the room I was experiencing inflammation from mold exposure. I could see where it had been painted Over in the bathroom which is sadly common. I was late for Dr consult so I got ready for my appt and had to leave luggage downstairs at desk as I didn't have time to change hotels. When i returned they refused to give me refund as I had used soap and garbage can in my 20 min in room. I expected at least a partial refund. Very disappointed!
