Our stay at the City Express Junior by Marriott in Ciudad Juárez during my wife’s immigration/consulate process was something we will never forget. The immigration journey itself was honestly one of the most stressful and emotionally exhausting experiences we’ve ever gone through, but this hotel became a source of comfort and stability during that difficult week. First and foremost, the location is absolutely unbeatable. The hotel is directly across the street from the U.S. Consulate area, the medical clinics, and many of the offices involved in the immigration process. That convenience alone removes a huge amount of stress when you’re dealing with appointments, paperwork, and uncertainty. What truly stood out, however, was the staff. Every employee we interacted with was humble, professional, patient, and genuinely kind. You can tell they understand exactly why most guests are there, and they treat people with compassion during what can be a very emotional time. The rooms are on the smaller side, but they were consistently very clean and comfortable. Honestly, the level of support and convenience more than made up for the room size. The breakfast every morning was fresh, delicious, and changed daily. It wasn’t extravagant, but it was always satisfying and thoughtfully prepared. One of the biggest hidden advantages of this hotel is the complimentary shuttle service. Some required government-related appointments, such as the police station and fingerprint-related processing, are located about 20 minutes away from the consulate area. The hotel regularly organizes shuttle trips there during the week, which was incredibly helpful and removed a lot of stress from figuring out transportation on our own. The drivers deserve special recognition because they do far more than just transport guests. They are very knowledgeable about the immigration process and will genuinely help guide you through what paperwork you need, where to go, and how to get started with forms and procedures. When you’re overwhelmed and unfamiliar with the area, that kind of help is invaluable. One important tip for anyone going through the process: bring cash. At the police station area, there’s a small stand nearby where you can make copies of your documents if needed, which ended up being very useful during the process. The front desk staff was also incredibly accommodating whenever we needed assistance with copies or logistics. Many of the medical exam transportation vans even pick people up directly from the hotel because of how common it is for consulate applicants to stay there. There are also plenty of conveniences nearby. Las Misiones Mall is directly across the street and is a great place to walk around, grab food, relax, or simply clear your mind for a bit during long waiting periods. There’s also a Starbucks in the parking lot, a decent food court inside the mall, nearby Walmart options, and many great restaurants accessible through Uber or Didi. If you’re unfamiliar with the city, I highly recommend using Uber — it made getting around simple and stress-free. Another surprisingly memorable part of the experience was the hotel’s Saturday city tour. The shuttle takes guests around Juárez, including a stop in El Centro and later a seafood restaurant before returning to the hotel. It was a nice mental break from the stress of immigration appointments and gave us an opportunity to experience the city beyond the consulate district. Something that made this stay especially unique is that nearly everyone at the hotel is there for the same reason: their immigration process. There’s an unspoken understanding among guests. Everyone is anxious, hopeful, nervous, and emotionally drained together. That shared experience creates a strange sense of community and support. This is not a luxury resort, nor does it pretend to be. What it offers is something far more valuable during the immigration process: reliability, safety, compassion, convenience, and peace of mind. Our immigration journey was difficult and stressful, but knowing we were staying somewhere that understood the process and genuinely cared about their guests made all the difference. I highly recommend booking early because this hotel fills up quickly, and for good reason. Thank you to the entire staff for helping make one of the hardest weeks of our lives more manageable and memorable in the best possible way.

This hotel was a joke from start to finish. We had been going back and forth on this hotel or the Extended Suites across the street. The Extended Suites had more of an apartment style, built in 2017, full kitchen, laundry and spacious rooms. The City Express was small, laundry was advertised and running free transportation was also advertised. The Free transportation, that was safe based off of reviews is what caught our eye and the whole reason we chose this hotel. The laundry was $8 to use, the washer barely held anything and there was only one washer and dryer working. The elevator was broken with one operable elevator, the transportation wasn't running and that was the whole reason we chose this one. The staff was extremely rude the entire stay. The cleaning ladies were the only decent and nice workers there. There was no fridge or microwave in the room. We stayed here for about a month for my consular process. A lot of things were broken in the room we were given they asked us to move after being there a little over a week. They were giving us a smaller room than we had already which was already way too small. We had to go down to the front desk and ask for a manager who would never come out and talk to us just sent the front desk staff back and forth to deliver messages. We were able to get a bigger room finally after having to get a little snappy with the front desk. Overall it was not a great stay and we wouldn't stay here again or recommend it to anyone.
