I originally booked a room here on Booking.com, then cancelled it. I went directly to the hotel website a few days later and re-booked the room. I booked our room for $3,100 pesos. When we arrived around 9 p.m. (Saturday, during Dia de Los Muertos and after a horrible 2 1/2 hour ride in a taxi from the airport) the woman at the hotel said that our reservation had been cancelled and they didn't have any more rooms. Ummmm.......Yes, the Booking.com reservation was cancelled, but not the other reservation. I think since we were so late they gave our room away!!! Well, they found us a room, then charged over $3,500 pesos for the room. Not a bad little hotel but an AWFUL experience!

Most hotels close to or in centro are noisy and overpriced. While not in centro, it's certainly within walking distance. We opted not to have breakfast as we had a flight to catch and didn't want to take the time. The only queja was that we specifically chose the more expensive Guelaguetza room because of the jacuzzi. But it quit working after 2 minutes. We mentioned it to management the next day wondering if they'd offer something to compensate, but they only sent an email apology. Which was OK I guess. Overall, a nice place. I'd stay there again.

I think the hotel overall is a great choice for Guanajuato, it is very historical and boutique, away from the hustle of downtown. Very charming and perfect for couples. They have a nice small pool and a green patio in the back where you can sit and enjoy the view. The room decor is really well appointed and the room was so spacious. The only thing to improve in my opinion is the continental breakfast since there are not many choices nearby for a breakfast I think the hotel should offer a nice Mexican style breakfast to their guests.
